About Lucas Victor
As the leader of the academic club and dungeons and dragons club, Lucas is the definitive nerd above all other nerds. He hates taking things at face value, but this also causes him to be an over thinker In both his mental and emotional endeavors. He's never been late to a class, always does the extra credit work, and has even been an assistant for other teachers at Tsunagari, especially the math teacher. He comes from a mother who's a big time doctor and a burly father who's a big time weapons expert. His dad knows he may not be as tough as him one day, but he has helped teach him the art of gunplay so he can be just as good of a contender. Lucas may have a lot of the things figured out in life through his brain, but the issue that the rest of the world has on him has to be his brawn, or lack thereof. Being picked on, bullied and shoved into lockers a lot really should bring someone's hope down, but his persistence and determination to be there for the people he loves keep him going through all of it. However, in the alternate realm, it really starts to put his nature and determination to the test. Will he finally take a stand for himself and get the strength he needs to survive, or will it all only be a thought, an idea that never comes to fruition in the end.
Lucas Game Guide
Inspirations
To my friends this one is pretty obvious. My favorite character is Ignatz from fire emblem three houses, and thus, Lucas was based off of him. I mean they even share the same last name because of it! He was also based on Klug from the Puyo series, Tattsun from Worlds End Club and Berdly from Deltarune. He also get's his first name from George Lucas, the creator of star wars. References aside, the difference between all of them is that Lucas mainly believes in the power of friendship, and acts a bit childish if anything. It's also pretty obvious that I made him autistic as well, but if anything it just adds to him being even more loveable and relatable to me and many others out there. He's a big win for Subliminarity and one of the characters that has a lot of inspirations, and inspires me to keep writing!
Behind the Scenes
Lucas was the first ever character created for Subliminarity, so if anything I have a lot of attachment to him. Originally he was going to be the quote-on-quote "Main Character" of Subliminarity, but I loved everyone too much to try and dish them into side character categories. He was also a fan favorite in the game version and his kit is made to be more tactical and ranged rather than up close and personal. In fact, originally he was supposed to have a shotgun, but after I gave him an MP5 I decided it worked better with him and changed the main weapons to David to have a shotgun instead and Naomi to have double pistols. His design carries over a lot, but one thing that I like to do is express himself through his glasses. Things like shining the lens, tipping his glasses, or having them fog up when he's embarrassed just adds a lot to his dorky personality that I adore! His strengths shine in his intelligence, autistic traits, and dorky power of friendship, while his flaws stem more into the emotional side, him being gullible and funnily enough also his autistic traits and handling pressure all by himself. If anything, he's more of the ideal version of a nerd compared to Jesse, but of course, if I was gonna make him this nerdy then he deserves for me to write him getting bullied as well. Overall, Lucas may be one of the dorkiest and gullible characters I've written out of the main cast, but it just goes to show how pure of a heart he has and how much fun he would also be to have around. The type of kid your parents want you to be like but who everyone else calls a nerdy prude.
