About Jack Doe
Living life down in the southern parts of the U.S, Jack grew up as a farmhand alongside his parents near a very small and quaint town. As a kid, he often ran around the town simply helping others with whatever they needed, such as rounding up animals, working on crops, or even working at some of the small stores to make sure everything was neat. Jack was essentially the maintenance boy of the town, and learned the art of woodcarving from his father since the two of them always loved working on neat projects to go alongside the farm. Once Jack started growing older, he wanted to make something of himself and find a way to repay back his family, so he set out his sights for moving into the city to make some money. His parents were reluctant at first, but nowadays sends him money so he can keep living in the bustling streets. It definitely feels different and more isolated, but he always makes sure to write back letters from his apartment. He attended Tsunagari as he heard that it was a prestige school that could also help him on his pursuit to be a salesman, and then even a businessman. The only issue now is that the alternate realm pulls him away from that dream and responsibility, resorting him to use his skills for a new set of townsfolk who this time, don't appreciate him. The true challenge now comes down to his limits and not only how much he's truly able to help, but if it's even worth it to help.

Inspirations
I'd like to go on record and say JACK WAS NOT INSPIRED BY HAJIME! I'VE GOTTEN LIKE 14 PEOPLE SAYING HE LOOKS LIKE HAJIME OH MY GOD! I don't even know what danganronpa he's from or what he does, but I swear to god he is not mr Salami Lid. Jack was actually the only character who has no inspirations aside from that one meme mocking americans where it's like "I would like to pay with my credit card. Do you have anything gluten free?". I just thought of making the most basic background character esque guy and making him a main character instead. Honestly this worked out really well as most of his comedy comes from how generic it is, and it also gives some affirmation to those who think they're boring. He's a really basic character, but that's also what makes him charming and effective. He's just a normal guy, and if anything I think he's too mature for being a teen/young adult.
Behind the Scenes
You know how when there's customization, everyone usually talks about how the stock item is the best. Like in Team Fortress 2 everyone says the sidegrade weapons are gimmicky, but the stock weapons are just right. Well that's exactly what Jack is as a whole character, a good ol reliable default type of guy. In the game version he's an all rounder where his defining attribute is just "add a +1 to every roll you make." He's not entirely special at anything attribute wise, but he's a good all rounder who's amazing at craftsmanship and shows that despite his averageness, he has a high skill ceiling to work with in utility. His design is so generic and yet the funny thing is that he's only generic for adults and not his actual age group. He's a character that's so basic to the point that he becomes unique and honestly that makes him really special in my eyes. He does have his own issues he has to deal with despite not being that much compared to the rest of the cast. I still find him as one of my favorites to work on simply because of how generalist he is and how that even makes him special in a worl where everyone's trying to be special. Overall, Jack is a paradox where he's so basic to the point where it makes being basic not be basic, and I love him for that.
