About Selena Sephora

Being the daughter of not one, but 2 multi billionaires, Selena lives the most privelaged life out of the rest of the cast. Since her parents own almost every makeup product in the world and even more things with the stocks that they hold, she's takes a lot of pride in the power of her appearance and what she can get away with. She's always been a big fan of modeling and styling, and an even bigger fan of using her charm to get others to do exactly what she wants. Growing up, as her parents are constantly away, she had to be raised by the servants that work in her mansion, so she's often used to her cushy life of getting what she wants, whenever she wants it. She's often nicknamed the "Queen Bee" of Tsunagari, since she was the cheerleading captain and known as the prettiest girl in the school. The only reason she goes there at this point instead of asking to be moved to a more high class school, is because of it's long lasting traditions in love and romance. The alternate realm though, takes her perceptions and completely flips them on her head, as now she can't just rely on everyone to do everything for her. Those days of white knights willing to defend her and come to her aid are completely out of the window, and she has to experience what a dose of reality is really like.  Selena's true challenge now is having to survive in a world where you either get your hands dirty, or get killed.

Selena Game Guide

Inspirations

When making the character for "Popular Girl", my thought process was just to create someone whom I would find hot and build it up from there. So yeah Selena is my type, and apparently, from what I surveyed, she's also a lot of other people's types as well! Afterward, I just worked on the other bits to her character and it was smooth sailing from there. I'm not sure if it's too obvious as well, but Selena was based on Megan Thee Stallion. Hell if you look at her with blonde hair they're practically identical twins. She was also based on Musume Ronshaku from Yandere Simulator (but that doesn't mean I support the series anymore.) I had to do the most research into her out of any other character though to get a feel as to what a "slay girl" was actually like rather than making her just a blatant stereotype of one. her writing feels authentic to me and after spending a lot of time on her, it's no wonder she likes to steal the spotlight from time to time. So slay sisters!

Behind the Scenes

Selena is a flawed character and purposefully so, and when making her I wanted people to hate her in the beginning due to her nature. Despite her helping out a lot, she's also manipulative and always trying to have her cake and eat it too. If anything, she gives off the same effect that any poison like drinking or smoking does, where whether you know or don't know that she's bad for you, you continue to give into her anyway. Her relationship with the rest of the cast is conflicting as hell because she's a character who's internally conflicted as well, and if anything she's one of the characters who goes through the most character development in the series, if not the character. If you've also noticed, she's one of the characters who look the most different from her picrew, but that's because a super important part of her character has to be her design since she relies on that to get others to do what she wants. Even in the game version she plays support and charms her own teammates to do things for her, never being the one who initiates and goes in guns blazing. Overall though compared to the rest of the characters, she's the one that requires the most investment for her to grow and become a better person, and I like her a lot because her flaws take a long time to iron out. It shows that she's human and that in the end, even those who do wrong can fix themselves to be right.
